AMAC swimmers showed some really sharp skills on starts, turns and underwater swimming at the season opening LASC Fall Challenge, October 24-25. The competition featured over 200 swimmers from southern Alberta and BC with 34 Marlins (reduced by 4 & 1 coach) racing well and posting 73 top three finishes, including 33 individual wins and 4 relay wins!
Masters swimmers the season is quickly approaching! This seasons 'Trial Week' will take place September 21st-24th at the Medicine Hat Family Leisure Centre (FLC). The sessions will be held Monday, Wednesday - 6:45-7:45 pm and Thursday from 7:00-8:00 pm and you are welcome to come out to any/all practices that week.
We'll be holding a sanctioned time trial on Wednesday, June 24 at 4pm for those swimmers who are still in the water training for upcoming provincial and national meets that they have qualified for. As an added bonus, there will be a potluck supper after the time trial. Yum!
AMAC turned in a great team performance and great individual performances at the Casacade Internation in Calgary , June 5-7. Our 19 swimmers placed 7th overall in the 450 swimmer field and our girls team placed 5th.
AMAC will be featured on CHAT TV (Cable 3 & Bell 248) May 1st with a story on Jessica Wong & Bailey Sloan qualifying for the Canadian Junior Prospects Team which will compete at the Mel Zajac International, May 22-24.
