Leaving Okotoks Black and Blue

Young Marlins Fast Leading into Championship Season

 

Some of our young AMAC swimmers showed great improvements in a very exciting and successful weekend at the Foothills Stingrays Black and Blue meet in Okotoks. The 2 day meet was attended by 11 swimmers who went on to acheive 57 best times, reached the podium 30 times and included a new AMAC club record.

Great Time Trial for AMAC Swimmers With New Western, Age National and Provincial Qualifiers

The Hiberna Vicis Tentatio on January 16 was a huge success with two new Western qualifiers, one new Age National Qualifier and three new A Provincial qualifiers.  Along the way our swimmers added four new AMAC records.

International and National Success for Marlins Caps 2009

Our swimmers capped off 2009 with some great swimming at the Paul Bergen International in Portland, Oregon from December 11-13 and as part of Team Alberta at Youth Cup In Toronto, December 3-6.

Snow & Cold Brings Edmonton To A Halt, AMAC Swimmers Blaze Through!

Outside it was cold, snowy and slow but inside it was another great competition for our swimmers at the JP Fiset Invitational, December 4-6, 2009 in Edmonton.

Practice Skills Have Racing Impact at Season Opener in Lethbridge

AMAC swimmers showed some really sharp skills on starts, turns and underwater swimming at the season opening LASC Fall Challenge, October 24-25.  The competition featured over 200 swimmers from southern Alberta and BC with 34 Marlins (reduced by 4 & 1 coach) racing well and posting 73 top three finishes, including 33 individual wins and 4 relay wins!

Great Finish to the Club Season at Nationals in Montreal

The club season ended this past weekend witht the conclusion of Age Group Nationals in Montreal.  The meet followed the Senior National Championships the week before and in all 16 AMAC swimmers competed with great success in one or both of the meets.

AMAC had 4 swimmers make their journey to Calgary for AB Age Group Trials this past weekend. Swimming in what could have been the last meet of the season the swimmers jumped on the blocks and made the effort to extend their season. Hannah L, Ian M, Angel S and Mikaela W all put themselves in positions for second swims, creating further opportunites for success.

Great Racing in Provincial Preparation

AMAC turned in a great team performance and great individual performances at the Casacade Internation in Calgary , June 5-7.  Our 19 swimmers placed 7th overall in the 450 swimmer field and our girls team placed 5th.

Young swimmers fast at the U of C

AMAC swimmers made their was to the University of Calgary this weekend to swim with the Dinosaurs. The showed they were up to the challenge with all swimmers competing for top finishes in their Age Groups. There were numerous podium finishes, as well as a new 'A's qualifier on the weekend. There were a couple other swimmers close to adding their name's to the big list of AMAC swimmers attending the Age Group/Senior Champs and will be looking to make that jump in a few weeks time.

Fast: The way our JAG's finished their season!

It was a weekend of firsts for many of our young swimmers and it was awesome to see them step up and have fun!
