Day 2
Our second day was also amazing; our morning began with a surprise room inspection. The boys lost of course, and Ellan, Liz and Lindsay won…of course. We also had morning practice after a pleasant breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express. Richard left in the middle of practice after staying the night with us. Ellan, Gracie, Patricia, Nick, Kristyn, and Graeme all left an hour early to attend church, at the Mary Star of the Sea church service. The choir at the church had electric blue and white cloaks on. Their singing was heavenly. It rained for a while in the afternoons…but that did not stop us from going to the beach. We all got pummelled by waves many times in the freezing cold Pacific Ocean. The undertow was scary. While at the beach, Colton decided that he wanted to a mermaid, so Gracie and Liz fulfilled his dream. Peter even went and got crushed by the pounding of the waves. As the day progressed, the sun came out and the waves got BIGGER! But that still did not stop us. Later that afternoon we walked home, people in their fancy cars (Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc..) were looking at us funny because we were all wet and bare footed, and they were in their jeans and sweaters driving along with the heat blasting in their cars (it was only about 17 degrees Celsius outside). Upon our return we went into the Hot Tub back at the hotel. Gracie, Sara, Matt and Adam got the hot tub extremely sandy because they didn’t rinse off first, but o well. The chaperones banned us to our rooms for half an hour where upon we started watching a Cinderella Story featuring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray! We came out of our rooms and the chaperones said that we had an Easter Egg Hunt! We all got loads of candy and our own individual baskets with animals on them. We had a photo op after the hunt and then we ventured back to our rooms to continue watching a Cinderella Story! At PRCISELY 7 o’clock, we ate a marvellous Easter dinner consisting of buns, ham, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, salad and cookies! After dinner we had a team meeting to end the day. We then all went back to our rooms and enjoyed the relaxation of La Jolla (pronounced La Hoy-A) Holiday Inn Express. Stay tuned for tomorrows blog entry of Sea World!
