Homeward Bound
As this is the last day of the trip before we travel home tomorrow it is time for me to put in my two cents worth. Our week has passed by incredibly fast but we will leave San Diego with countless great memories, excellent training and friendships that will last long beyond individual swimming careers. All AMAC swimmers should be very proud of how their team mates represented themselves and look forward to the opportunities that they will share in as a result of the precedent that has been set on this and other team trips. A big thank you to our chaperones, Jane Zwicker and Cathy Crockford. Your efforts throughout the week, from the great meals to safely shuttling to kids around San Diego and vicinity were paramount to the overall success of the trip. Thank as well for the daily Satrbucks at the pool! - Coach Peter
This week has been one of the most memorable trips I have ever been on. I got to see seaworld on my birthday and the Sandiego Padres sneek past the Colorado rockies in the last half inning. I got to see thousands of different fish in Birch's aquarium at scripps. Overall I had a great time and look forward to next year- Matt
San Diego, Ya Hoo. It was an awesome experience for me and probably was for everyone who went on this trip with me. My most memorble moment was when Peter, Ellan, and Colton all went on a major wave and Peter and I got crushed. I nailed my head, but adrenaline was rushing through my veins. It was very exhilarating and was fun even though I hurt myself. I would also express my feelings to all the swimmers that went on this trip with me and thank them for so much fun. Peter was an amazing coach to be with and would love to do this again. Thanks

So, here i am in San Diego. I'm here in the chaperones room contemplating on what i am going to write. ok, first day. First we take the long ride to Calgary, take long plane rides and then we are here. Then the days gone, having fun everyday, even though the first few days were so very miserable. After it started warming up on the third day, we started going to the beach and swimming faster in the pool. S0 we did all this and we did all that, and finally here i am as i started this paragraph, in the chapperones room. Thanks for supporting us in coming here an this is one of the greatest trips the I have ever taken in my life. So you soon! WOOTS!
-Michael Dufour
oops, i forgot something, i forgot to put on sunscreen! oops.
So, here I am on the last day. I am sunburnt, tempers have been pushed to their limit in the boys room, tired, exhausted, and Peter is suppressing my free speech. Over all, this has been the most successful trip of my life. Mucho Grande good training, couple of life goals realized. So, ummmm, yeah. Ciao, Sayonnara, Arrivederci, Jamatane.
-Colton Boxell!!! (HA beat you all and put THREE exclamations marks)
Well here we are at the end of our great adventure in san diego. I am so glad that I could could come on this trip it was so much fun. My favourite part was the beach and sea world (never sit in the front row you get soaked). I loved everything about this trip except the fact that we have to go home.

Our last day in San Diego.....wow this has gone by so fast it seems like yesterday we were getting onto the planes. It has been a great trip and I have so many great memories from this trip that willl stay for a long time. I am glad we got a chance to go on this trip and I got to learn alot more about my teammates. See you in the Hat - Sara
What an absolutely fabulous trip! It couldn't have been better. Many fun days at the beach, Sea World, Belboa Park, and shopping!! Chaperones made the trip soooo much better too! We are all going back home tomorrow knowing each other a little more, stronger, and tanned! I had a blast in SAN DIEGO! - Liz
Well i love San Diego! Thank you to the chaperons, Peter, and all my swim buddies for all the memories! I will never forget the Padres game, Seaworld, the beach and of course swim practice in the beautiful outside pool (with my floppy arm..). I will never forget everyone I now know better, and the fabulous KELPE and the KELPE bag. YAY for the manatee's and sea urchin kisses! Love you all! - Patricia
So I thought I would put a brief synapsis of what we did today. Just in case no one said anything yet. We went to Balboa park. (but sadly we were unable to get a bal-Boa... you know those neck scarfs?) anyways, some people checked out the science museum, but Liz and I checked out the Natural Sciences museum. It had a GIANT shark (not real) that scared the crap out of us everytime we turned the corner. There were many other cool exhibits there, but not enough time to tell right now. We also saw an Imax about the coral reefs... VERY cool. The park is amazing.. so beautiful with lots of really really cool old buildings.. great architecture. Anyways... the trip all in all was amazing. Coming out with many fun tan lines (burn lines?). Manatees were amazing... or everything in Sea World. The 4 Shamus were cool too. And all the sea life! and Shark feeding! So many good experiences I really can't say it all. I love everyone on the trip this much more, we all got so close. Even if i was the source of many jokes. So an overall successful trip that I will NEVER forget. Yay for KELPE bag!

Today had to be the best weather the whole time we were here. Hardly any wind made the perfect beach day which I chose to do. I love the beach and I love being here. This trip was a blast and I had lots of fun, too bad we have to leave tommorow but I'll be glad to see everyone at home again. We had a mini battle with the north coast swim team but only with the senior group which is the second fastest group they have. Today was awesome and we made our own sundaes for dessert and mine took forever to eat. See you guys back in the Hat! Kristyn.
Well, the last day. It all went by so fast!! I personally could have stayed a little bit longer even though I'm missing the family back home. So...I think every training camp has a "STAR", a swimmer who steps up to the plate and challenges themselves to train harder and better. Last year in Victoria, I think that person was Kylie Warne, and this year in beautiful sunny San Diego, that person was Sara Zwicker. Not saying that everyone else didn`t step up, but Sara was truly a Star in the pool. Anyways, enough with that, my favorite part of this trip was going to Sea World and Boogie slash Body Boarding in the beautiful Pacific Ocean. I was amazed at Sea World how the trainers can train the Sea Lions, Dolphins, Otters and Killer Whales. I`m still amazed by it. Well, I must be off. Thank you fellow swimmers, Peter, Mrs. Zwicker and Mrs. Crockford for the amazing opportunity. It will never be forgotten. Yours truly, Ellan.
