Sun, Surf and San Diego by Graeme and Lindsay
First day in San Diego was pretty awesome. We woke up and had a nice breakfast before taking a jog down to the beach. Ok, we didn’t jog, but it was fun. Played in the waves and Mouse got completely soaked, head to toe. We set off to the swimming pool, after a few wrong turns we made it there in one piece. After a few lengths of getting used to swimming yards we set out to a brutally hard practice. We came back to the hotel then, with less of the wrong turns. Ate some lunch and then went out on the town. Nick bought some shirts to bring his total shirt collection to 4. Some shopping was done by others as well. We checked out some really nice car stores. Ferrari’s, Lambourgini’s, Bently’s, and other crazy sweet cars. Actually pretty much all the cars on the road are really nice too. And the houses, man people are RICH! After our window shopping we went down to the beach. Again. Graeme, Nick and Colton hit the waves… literally. They are HUGE!! Some of them that are far out must be 12 feet high! The boys did some amazingly awesome body surfing, with Graeme taking a few spills. Ouch. We walked back to our hotel, only to take off again. To the Padres baseball game we go! We ate a nice supper of hotdogs, pizza or burgers at the stadium. Then the games began. We were sitting right behind the batter… only like 20 stories higher. We were at the VERY top row. We all had a lot of fun, some souvenirs were bought, and songs were sang out at the top of our lungs. We were all really into the YMCA dance… having a lot of fun… only to look up at the big screen to see almost all of us dancing away!!! Oh my goodness… we were all going crazy on screen… they managed to look WAY up to our row and watch our awesome dancing J. The game ended in a bang. The score was tied, and in the bottom of the ninth everyone had their breath held. San Diego’s own Adriene Gonzalez at the plate, and hit a whopping hit. It was almost a home run but bounced off the back fence, sending the 2 other players that were on the bases into home to finish the game. YAY PADRES!! After the game we had a special treat! They had a fireworks show at the stadium, very well done… everyone’s faces were smiling.
We came back and got ready to go to bed… but first we had to keep you updated with this wonderful blog. Our first day was jam packed with fun… we can’t wait to see what lies ahead of us.
Till next time:
