
Peter Schori |
This is Peter's 7th year as head coach of AMAC after coaching for 10 years with Cascade in Calgary where he attended the University of Calgary. During his tenure AMAC has grown its competitive and pre-competitive groups of swimmers, established AMAC as a perennial TOP 10 team in Alberta and helped AMAC become one of the best small clubs in Canada. Peter is working on his level three coaching certification and in his words -- is a better coach than he was a swimmer!
Highlights from the past six years include
- Named 2007-08 Swim Alberta Provincial Sprint Free Coach.
- Member of Swim Alberta High Performance Advisory Committee since 2004.
- Finalists at every Canadian Trials Competition since 2004 (2000 Olympic Trials, 2005 World Championship Trials, 2006 Commonwealth Games Trials, 2006 Pan Pacific Games Trials).
- Six swimmers have won Provincial Championships.
- Chair of Swim Alberta Coaches Association 2004-05.
- Swim Alberta Desperado Award winner in 2002 -- voted by Alberta coaches for best coaching performance in Alberta.
2006-07 Marlin Accomplishments
- Provincial Success - First place team finish at the 2006-07 Swim Alberta Age Group Championships in the Tier II Division. The first championship in club history.
- International Success - Individual team member on 2007 Pan AM Games team and 2007 FISU Games Team.
- Individual Excellence - Over 20 AMAC All Canadians - swimmers ranked in the TOP 50 in Canada.
- Three Alberta Provincial Champions in 2006-07.
- 10 Canadian Age Group National Qualifiers.
- Five swimmers selected to Swim Alberta Talent ID Camps.
- Over 100 swimmers participated in AMAC's competitive and pre-competitive programs.
- Academic Accomplishment - Over 85% of AMAC competitive swimmers training 6 or more times per week were honour roll students in the 2006-07 academic year.
